CALL FOR COLLABORATION 

  

dancers/ movement artists/ performers with improvisation experience 

  

Lisa Carrie Goldberg (Canada) is an artist presently holding a residency at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art (PICA). She is currently looking for volunteer performers to collaborate with her on a performance at PICA’s Open Studio on 2 December 2010. 

 

Lisa’s project is about investigating the fields of sleep science and art. In her work, she aims to highlight the eccentricities of sleep as a phenomenon while demystifying the hidden side of sleep research through its employment of the Sleep Laboratory.

 

Lisa will be examining some of the distinct body gestures that occur exclusively in sleep. With the help of performers, she intends to re-activating and embodying these body movements through a performance that will take place on 2 December 2010.

 

Lisa is looking for:

·       3 volunteers

·       either male or female

·       available to meet with Lisa on multiple occasions at her studio to discus the project

·       people willing to interpret the project in their own way. Improvisation is highly

encouraged

·       comfortable with performing a short movement piece to a public audience on the Open

Studio night at PICA on 2 December 2010
